Have you ever wonder who is a less advantaged person in the society? The less advantaged persons are those with low social-economical conditions, persons with diseases or those born with handicaps that limit them. The scope also goes ahead to cover refugees, the poor, street children, those living in slums. The less advantaged in the society are in their condition because they are not well advanced economically, the nature of resources being distributed unevenly, genetic disorder, political instability and harsh environmental conditions among many factors. Consequently, the less advantaged go through a lot of suffering that is mainly psychological and may fell neglected hence develop a low self esteem, ending up being suicidal.
First, whatever we do to help the less advantaged should include them right from the start. They should be counted as players in the field. Maybe I am mistaken in my observation but I will express myself anyway. This is not a criticism to the organizers but simply an expression of a wish. By saying this I mean that first empower them, encourage them, feed them, share experience with the less advantaged. Have you ever wondered why giving a street children some coins is not a great deal? This is because the child will end up misusing the money, instead first feed him. We need to be humane and be aware that all human beings are important despite their differences in ability, potential, physical ability among others. It’s our responsibility to help the less advantaged as a family, society, government, therefore let us join hands to assist the less advantaged to our potential.
